Aaron’s most recent work, “Uncertainly Yours,” was selected by the Boston New Music Initiative as the winner of their 2nd Young Composers Competition. As a result, the piece will be performed in Boston on the organization’s fall concert on November 4th. Still inspired by this material, he created a short fixed media electronics piece, entitled “Stay,” that uses parts of this recording as source material.
He was recently commissioned by clarinetist Lauren Murphy to write a piece for her flute, saxophone, and bass clarinet trio. In addition, his piece, “what if i’m wrong,” will be read by Third Coast Percussion during their residency at the University of Missouri. Following that, Aaron’s piece “Rise” for solo cello will be premiered at the Sheldon Concert Hall by cellist Bjorn Ranheim. In May of 2017, he will score two documentary films in collaboration with local film makers in Missouri.
